If you’re looking to buy very cheap makeup, look no further than the company Eyes Lips Face, which is often just called E.L.F. 🙂 I first heard of them when browsing through a magazine during my teen years and because I was totally broke, my eyes immediately lit up when I saw that their cosmetic items were only $1 each! Quickly, I ran to the family computer, logged on to the internet and typed in eyeslipsface.com to browse the beautiful selection.
And ELF is still here today, better than ever! I’ll help you build a kit of some of their best products on the cheap.
Very cheap makeup kit
The first thing to start with in your kit is a makeup brush set that includes:
1. at least one face brush
2. and eye shadow brushes
The brush set pictured is the Elf Essential Professional Travel Brush Kit and guess how much it is? Just 5 bucks. That’s $1 per brush plus a free brush case. The brushes included are an angled liner brush, sponge eye shadow applicator, flat eye shadow or concealer brush, brow/lash comb and a powder brush. This brush set will get you started for cheap!
You probably want more than brushes, right? Fear not, because it’s time for that 32-Piece Eye Shadow Palette and Brush Set. All of the ELF eye shadows that I’ve tried are very pigmented and apply smoothly, so for $6 that set is an amazing deal.
Another thing you’ll probably want in your kit is mascara and eyeliner. The Essential Lengthening and Defining Mascara as well as the Essentials Brightening Eye Liner are $1 each and I like that Elf offers a few beautiful shades for the eye liner pencils 🙂 .
Don’t forget to add a little lip color to your collection! The Elf Essentials Lipstick tubes are, you guessed it, only a dollar each. Above, I’ve picked out the shade “Voodoo” because it looks like a pretty berry shade that will work on most skin tones. And a great trick to make one lip color into a few different ones is: adjust it with a lip liner or gloss. ELF has lip liners and lip glosses for one dollar each, too.
On to the face! If you have blemishes you’d like to conceal, that can be done inexpensively with Elf Cosmetics, too. Their Essentials Tone Correcting Concealer is $1 and they have a few different shades ranging from light to dark. Instead of paying more for a foundation, you could try starting with a concealer to spot cover and blend it very well. Then set it with the Essentials Clarifying Pressed Powder (they have a few shades from light to dark) for only a buck!
There you have it! A great makeup kit that we created ourselves for just $16. All of the products are popular ones by Eyes Lips Face and they are available on various websites and in Target stores. Happy shopping!
